Cement Plant in Hebei – Cost Reduction and Efficiency Improvement via Grinding Media Replacement

A cement plant in Hebei originally used cast balls as grinding media for its cement mills; however, high wear rates and the need for frequent ball replenishment resulted in consistently high overall operating costs. Muren Machinery provided a replacement solution using cross-rolled steel grinding balls. The cross-rolling process eliminates defects such as blowholes and voids found in cast balls, resulting in a uniform grain structure that makes the product resistant to cracking or fracturing during use.

Actual operational data showed that switching to Muren Machinery's rolled balls significantly reduced wear rates compared to cast balls, substantially extended the replenishment cycle, and improved grinding efficiency-resulting in annual savings of approximately $12,000 on grinding media alone.
